WEST VALLEY CITY — A 37-year-old man was shot in the arm late Saturday.

But West Valley police said Sunday they were having trouble piecing together what happened because none of the parties involved were cooperating with investigators.

The incident happened about 11:50 p.m. Police were called to 3250 W. 4100 South on a report of gunshots, but by the time they arrived the victim had already left the scene, said West Valley Police Lt. Lamont Cox.

Witnesses said one man and four women ran off after shots were fired. Investigators found several shell casings at the scene, Cox said.

Friends of the victim drove him to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound, he said. But the man did not give police much information about what happened to him.
