WEST VALLEY — Pop star Kelly Clarkson stopped mid song during a recent concert in Utah to hold a Lehi baby in the crowd, and it was caught on video.
Clarkson was singing her hit "Breakaway" during the Aug. 8 concert at the Usana Amphitheatre in West Valley City when she spied a cute, blond-haired boy in the crowd.
The American Idol winner simply couldn't help herself when she saw 16-month-old Boston Skinner and stopped cold to ask if she could hold the tot.
"We are just amazed that Kelly would stop singing just to give our little guy some love," said Boston's father, Josh Skinner, who lives in Lehi. "The reaction we've seen online so far has been so positive — many people say it was the best part of the concert."
Many babies might fuss and cry if a stranger holds them, but Boston takes to the stage (and Clarkson) like a pro, even charming the crowd with the tiniest finger wave.
We haven't heard from Kelly (yet), but would love to set up a play date for Boston and her daughter, River Rose.

The sweet video, which Skinner filmed further back in the crowd, shows Clarkson cooing over Boston, then offering her own daughter, River Rose, as his future bride.

Skinner said he and his wife, Rosie, take Boston to concerts frequently. He loves to dance in the aisles and blow kisses at other concertgoers. Skinner also said Boston received on-stage attention during another recent concert with Matt Nathanson, The Fray and Train. During his performance, Nathanson said, "Somebody brought a baby," with enthusiasm when he noticed Boston in the crowd.
The video of Boston and Clarkson is gaining traction online and currently has over 70,000 views.
