CLEARFIELD — A man who was killed in a car accident Tuesday afternoon and three others who were injured have been identified.

The accident occurred on SR-193 around 4:30 p.m. when 18-year-old Christian Ferrin of Layton was trying to turn left from Center Street onto the freeway. His Ford F250 hit the back of Dodge Dakota traveling westbound on the highway, Clearfield police said.

The Dodge Dakota then spun out and struck an eastbound Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Nissan, West Point resident Casey David Archuleta, 37, was transported to Davis Hospital and Medical Center and was pronounced dead, according to Clearfield police Lt. Kelly Bennett.

Two other occupants of the Nissan, also West Point residents, were injured during the accident. Casey Archuleta's wife, Melissa Archuleta, 34, and her 13-year-old daughter, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Melissa Archuleta wrote a statement on Facebook regarding the accident and her husband's death.

"Thank you for all your condolences, my heart is beyond empty and my life has done a 360," Melissa Archuleta wrote. "I watched my husband die in front of my eyes and there was nothing I could do about it. I would never wish this on anyone not even my worst enemy. He was my true lover and soulmate, he was an amazing father and loved my girls like no one could. I am truly truly devastated and will continue to ask for prayers, I truly don't know how I going to do this!"

The driver of the Dodge Dakota, Sunset resident Johnny Conover, 26, was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Bennett said.

The three injured individuals have since been released from the hospital. Ferrin was not transported to the hospital, Bennett said.

The accident is "actively being investigated," police said, adding that charges may be considered at the end of the investigation.
