OGDEN — Two people were shot in broad daylight Saturday in what police say was a gang-related crime.
Just before 11 a.m., police were notified of a shooting in the 2600 block of Madison Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered that two people had been shot, said Ogden Police Lt. Kevin Cottrell.
One man, 37, was shot in the chest. A second man, 23, had been shot in the leg. Both were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated and then released just a couple of hours later, Cottrell said.
The shooting occurred when a black car approached a group of people who were sitting in front of a duplex. Words were exchanged and someone in the car opened fire, striking the two men, according to the lieutenant.
"It's pretty evident that it was gang-related and these people were specifically targeted," he said.
Neither witnesses nor the victims were cooperating with investigators.
