CENTERVILLE — Four people were arrested, including three teenagers, and police were looking for one more man Monday in a case involving stolen guns and drugs.

About 9 p.m. Sunday, Centerville police were called to a residence near 300 East and Porter Lane on a report of two stolen handguns, said Centerville Assistant Police Chief Paul Child. A 9 mm and a .45 handgun were taken from an unlocked gun cabinet in the home some time in the past day or two, he said.

Investigators were able to determine that the gun owner's nephew was responsible, Child said. The 16-year-old nephew and a 16-year-old friend were questioned by police. They led officers to one of the guns hidden under a rock in the foothills of Centerville.

As of Monday, Child said he did not know what the teens were intending to do with the weapon.

Detectives learned that the second gun was traded for drugs to a group staying at the Motel 6 in Woods Cross, he said. Centerville police and a SWAT team from Bountiful responded to the motel. Gerald Grant, 19, of Florida, and a 16-year-old girl from Bountiful were taken into custody. A second man was able to escape. Police continued looking Monday for Eli Emery Boice, 20, of Kaysville.

Child did not know Monday if the teens had already arranged to trade the gun for drugs before they allegedly took it.

Anyone with information on Boice can call Centerville police at 801-292-8441.
