MORGAN COUNTY — A man wanted for assault and the theft of numerous firearms in multiple states was arrested in Morgan County on Saturday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Daniel Lyman-Muzzy, 31, was a person of interest for numerous burglaries involving the theft of firearms in Vermont, but fled the state before he could be arrested, according to U.S. Marshals Service's Vermont Violent Offender Task Force.

"It is believed that Muzzy traveled to Tennessee, Kentucky and Utah where he is a person of interest in additional crimes," a statement from the U.S. Marshal's Service reads. "The VVOTF developed information that Muzzy was in Utah and may have been involved in the theft of several additional firearms."

The Salt Lake City Police Department released images of Muzzy and a woman, Regina Collins, on Friday in connection to the recent robbery of a pawn shop. Two semi-automatic handguns were stolen from a display case in the shop on June 25, according to police.

"On July 11, 2015, information gathered from the public led law enforcement to a state park in Morgan County, Utah," the statement reads. "Muzzy was armed with two firearms when encountered by law enforcement and resisted arrest. Officers found numerous firearms and drug paraphernalia within Muzzy's possession."

Muzzy will potentially face charges for crimes in Utah before being extradited to Vermont, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
