Motorcyclist dies in head-on collision on Wolf Creek Pass

FRANCIS, Summit County — A 26-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday in a head-on crash in the Wolf Creek Pass area of the Uinta Mountains.

The man was riding westbound on state Route 35 about 15 miles east of Francis when he drifted into oncoming traffic at about 2:15 p.m., according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The motorcycle collided with a truck pulling a trailer.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, the UHP said. Authorities have not released his name.
