SALT LAKE CITY — A man was hospitalized in critical condition Saturday after police say he was stabbed in the chest at a Salt Lake apartment complex.
About 5:30 p.m., police were called to an apartment complex at 1720 W. 1300 North, where they found a bystander doing CPR on a man with a single stab wound on his chest, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Eddie Cameron.
The 20-year-old victim was taken in an ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition.
Cameron said the man lives in the apartments and knocked on a neighbor's door, asking for help after he was injured. He later lost consciousness and was laying on the ground when officers arrived.
The lieutenant said police haven't recovered a weapon and there were no suspects Saturday evening.
"We're still trying to piece stuff together," Cameron said. "Now that we've got the scene contained, we're starting to knock on doors and see if anybody heard or saw anything."
