WEST VALLEY CITY — A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning after a fight at an apartment complex, police said.

The two men were initially inside the complex, but moved to the lawn outside, where the altercation occurred, according to West Valley City police Lt. Julie Jorgensen.

Police responded to the complex at 1580 W. 2320 South around 2:15 a.m. after receiving several calls from neighbors who heard the gun shots, Jorgensen said.

The approximately 20-year-old man was then transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Investigators are still interviewing witnesses to get more information about the shooter and the case. Police do not yet know the identity of the shooter and did not immediately release the name of the victim.
