PRICE — A man was arrested after posing as a Carbon County Housing Authority employee to steal computer items, police said.

Mylo Lamar Michie, 43, signed for an undisclosed number of items at Office Equipment, Etc. in Price using a fictitious name, according to the Price City Police Department. Investigators said he claimed to be from the Carbon County Housing Authority, but was not actually employed the agency.

The theft occurred on June 19, but wasn’t reported to police until Tuesday, according to investigators. Police said they identified Michie after surveillance video of the theft was posted online.

Michie was arrested on suspicion of third degree felony theft and third degree felony forgery, according to police. They said he is currently incarcerated at the Carbon County Jail in connection to a recent aggravated assault.

The Price City Police Department said Michie has been arrested 19 times since 1990, mostly for theft-related investigations.
