SALT LAKE CITY — When your whole life is packed into a small trailer, sometimes what's most important becomes clearer. Amber Critchfield says that's what happened to her Wednesday night.

"My boyfriend was coming over to get the trailer," Critchfield explained. "He called me and said it was gone."

The news was disappointing, but after thinking it over she realized something very important was inside.

"The one thing that I care about most is the little wooden box that I have my two little boys' ashes in and the moldings of their feet and hands."

Critchfield had moved out of her apartment, but because of issues with a contractor she says her new home isn't quite ready. Her belongings were sitting in the small silver Haulmark trailer for several days near the corner of 900 West and 500 South.

"I lost Ayden in 2008. He was a stillborn," Critchfield said. "And then Easton in 2010. He lived for five days."

Critchfield has been posting pictures of the trailer to social media, along with the Utah license plate number 0377 36A, hoping that someone may have seen who took it or might spot it abandoned somewhere. She also filed a report with Salt Lake City Police.

"I've always wanted to be a mom, and the doctors cannot figure out why I can't carry full-term," Critchfield explained in tears. "They said it's best if I just don't try to have any more children."

At the very least, she's asking the thieves to leave the small, wooden box with her sons' ashes somewhere where it can be found.

"I may not physically have my kids with me, but that's all I have of them," Critchfield said.
