PRICE — A 9-year-old girl who was lost for about four hours Sunday in the Emma Park area was spotted by two oilfield workers who reunited her with her family, according to the Carbon County Sheriff's Office.
The girl, who is from Carbon County, was returning to her family's vehicle after an outing with other relatives when she took a wrong turn, Carbon County sheriff's detective Wally Hendricks said. Her family spent "an extended period of time searching" for her before calling for help, Hendricks said.
The area where the girl was last seen is in Utah County near the border with Carbon County, Hendricks said. Search and rescue teams from both counties were activated, but before they could reach the scene, two oilfield workers found the girl and picked her up.
"They saw the child and the police cars, put two and two together, and brought her to us," Hendricks said.
The girl was cold but otherwise unharmed, he said. She was treated by an ambulance crew and released to her family about 9:45 p.m.
