SALT LAKE CITY — With the release of the latest installment of the “Jurassic Park” series this week, the beloved Piano Guys have added their own take to the movie’s iconic soundtrack with a new music video and song.

The “Jurassic Park” soundtrack is likely one of the most recognized theme songs of the 90s, and the Piano Guys have not disappointed with their latest song: “Jurassic World Sonata.” The music video is well-done and is filmed in Crawdad Canyon near St. George, Utah.

The Piano Guys wrote on their YouTube page that they were inspired by the writing, directing and overall composition that went into the “Jurassic Park” theme song and call it “an infallible recipe for an epic movie.”

“We thought we’d pay tribute to this ‘hat trick’ of artistry by arranging a ‘chill,’ almost reverent version of John Williams’ deeply emotive theme from Jurassic Park and film it in the nearest prehistoric place we could find: Crawdad Canyon,” the Piano Guys wrote on their YouTube page.

The “Jurassic Park Theme” is written by John Williams, but longtime pianist Jon Schmidt put the arrangement together. The piece is performed by Schmidt on the piano and Steven Sharp Nelson on the cello.
