LOGAN CANYON — A semitruck loaded with 25,000 pounds of ice cream crashed into a river in Logan Canyon Tuesday, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The driver of the semitruck, who wasn’t injured during the incident, lost control of the vehicle while rounding a corner on US-89 just east of Logan Cave at about 11 a.m., according to investigators. They said the semitruck, which was pulling a trailer, tipped over and fell into the Logan River.
Both the semitruck and trailer were brand new, according to UHP. Workers reportedly formed a human chain to unload the ice cream from the semitruck so the vehicle could be moved.
