PROVO — Fellow mothers and women gathered at Pioneer Park in Provo Wednesday evening to offer prayers and comfort to Libertad Salgado, the mother of missing Elizabeth Salgado.
It’s been 48 days since anyone has seen Elizabeth Salgado. Since then, her family members' lives have been on pause. The search for the 27-year-old has been unrelenting; fliers have been posted all over Utah and in other states.
Kenya Chevez attended the prayer vigil on behalf of Elizabeth Wednesday evening.
“I may not know (the Salgado family), but hopefully my support can do a little help toward finding her,” Chevez said. “ I didn’t know (Elizabeth) or her family, but I pray for her every night.”
Dozens of women lit candles and surrounded Elizabeth’s mother in prayer.
“I pray that she’s OK, for her family’s strength, and that she is found,” Chevez said.
Libertad Salgado asked every mother to search for her daughter as if it were their own.
