ST. GEORGE — A man was transported to the hospital in serious condition after crashing into a residence Thursday, police said.

The 30-year-old man struck the side of a home at 1450 N. Dixie Downs Rd. at about 7:40 a.m., according to the St. George Police Department. Investigators said it appeared the man ran into the home after failing to stop at a stop sign while traveling east on 1425 North and crossing Dixie Downs Road.

An ambulance transported the man to the Dixie Regional Medical Center, according to police. They said no one was in the home at the time of the accident.

The incident is still under investigation.
