SALT LAKE CITY — Police are searching for two men who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.

At about 4 a.m., police say two men wearing bandanas over their faces entered the 7-Eleven at 111 W. 800 South in Salt Lake City.

One of the men brandished a handgun at the clerk, demanding money, while the other stole beer from a cooler, a written statement from police said.

"The clerk complied and the two suspects fled the store southbound down the alley west of the store," the statement said.

Neither the clerk nor a customer who was in the store during the robbery was injured, police said.

One of the robbers is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, and wearing a black sweatshirt with gray writing, blue jeans, and a dark ball cap. Police said the other man is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, and was wearing a dark sweater and a dark ball cap.

Both men have brown hair and brown eyes and appeared to be in their 20s.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the individuals involved is asked to call Salt Lake City Police at 801-799-3000. To remain anonymous, text the keyword TIPSLCPD plus any relevant information to 274637.
