SALT LAKE CITY — Three people were arrested early Saturday morning after a report of underage drinking and an alcohol overdose at a party that also resulted in multiple incidents of assault on an officer, police say.

According to Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department, officers responded to a call just after midnight Saturday to assist the Unified Fire Authority on a report of an alcohol overdose at 6530 S. Redwood Rd. Police arrived to find a large party taking place with multiple juveniles consuming alcohol, Hoyal said.

As officers entered the home, they found a man, identified as Cody Argyle, 29, holding a knife in the kitchen and reportedly cutting paper, Hoyal said. Officers instructed Argyle to drop the knife, but he refused and instead turned to officers and threatened them with the knife.

At this point, according to Hoyal, police on the scene called for help and received backup from multiple stations. Argyle was non-compliant and officers deployed a stun gun while attempting to subdue him before taking him into custody, Hoyal said.

As this was happening, a woman, identified as Sabrina Hendrick, 28, hit one of the officers as he was attempting to subdue Argyle, said Hoyal. Officers were forced to subdue Hendrick and she was also taken into custody.

Several juveniles fled the scene as officers subdued Argyle and Hendrick, but were located soon after. Hoyal said roughly 10 juveniles were identified, but all were released to their families with recommendations to juvenile court for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

According to Hoyal, Argyle was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault of police officers. Hendrick was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

A third individual, identified as Osmond Montano, 20, was also arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

All three were booked into Salt Lake County Jail, Hoyal said.
