PRICE — A man was arrested Thursday morning after “behaving erratically” and was found in possession of illegal narcotics, police said.
Just before 9 a.m., a police officer saw a man “placing himself in danger by entering into traffic” near 100 North and 300 East, according to Price City police. Another officer arrived on scene to assist with the situation and confronted the man, identified as Fred David Duran, 23.
Duran was determined to be “intoxicated and a danger to himself” and he told police he had “ingested illegal narcotic substances,” police said. Duran was found in possession of six grams of methamphetamine and .5 grams of heroin and was arrested by the officers at the scene.
He was booked into the Carbon County Jail on suspicion of intoxication, possession of heroin and possession of methamphetamine. The Carbon County Attorney’s Office will determine formal charges, with a Drug Free Zone enhancement likely to apply, police said.
Duran has a minor criminal history with seven previous arrests, police said.
