SALT LAKE CITY — A Holladay man is accused of luring a 14-year-old girl to a location to have sex with him after meeting her online and police now are seeking his arrest.
Eddie Joseph Miglietta was charged in 3rd District Court Monday with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony. Miglietta, 22, invited the teen girl to “hang out” in February and met up with her multiple times, according to charging documents.
Miglietta allegedly spoke with the girl over Skype and then asked her to be his girlfriend after she hitched a ride to meet up with him in Holladay. An arrest affidavit filed by the Unified Police Department says he engaged in sexual acts with the girl on consecutive days.
The affidavit reported that an officer discovered Miglietta and the girl having sex inside a red convertible in the area of 1700 E. Woodbridge Drive in Holladay on Feb. 10. The girl reportedly detailed the encounters to investigators after further investigation and an arrest warrant was issued Monday.
Miglietta previously pleaded guilty to driving with no license in January 2014 and was charged with assault in May. Miglietta gave a plea in abeyance in the assault case, according to court records. Email: blockhart@deseretnews.com Twitter: @benlockhartnews
