SALT LAKE CITY — A man was transported to the hospital in serious condition Friday morning after a man allegedly shot him.

The victim, 37, was standing in the north parking lot of an apartment complex near 1100 North Redwood Road when a man approached him and demanded his wallet, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The victim refused to give the man his wallet, so the man shot him in the chest, police said.

Investigators searched the area for clues but didn’t find much. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
