DAVIS COUNTY — A man was arrested after allegedly shattering a patrol car window with his head and threatening law enforcement Wednesday.
Investigators said they believe Randy Duane Ochsner, a 54-year-old Roy resident, was driving impaired when a Clinton police officer stopped him in West Point at about 10:30 p.m. A deputy from the Davis County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist soon after.
While the investigators were conducting a field sobriety test, Ochsner became agitated, according to a probable cause statement. Sgt. DeeAnn Servey said the officers placed Ochsner in handcuffs up against the patrol car.
“He became very upset and decided to bash his forehead into the passenger rear window of the Davis County Sheriff’s Patrol car, which led to the window completely shattering and several injuries to his face,” she said.
Medical personnel were called out to treat him on scene, but Servey said Ochsner was “belligerent during the entire process.” He reportedly attempted to kick one of the EMTs and spit on responding officers and health care workers.

Ochsner also threatened to shoot one of the deputies in the head while enroute to a local hospital, according to the probable cause statement.
Investigators said they found drug paraphernalia and controlled substances in the vehicle Ochsner was driving during a search. After being treated for his injuries at the hospital, Ochsner was transported to the Davis County Jail.
He was arrested on suspicion of assault against a peace officer, interference with an arresting officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, making terroristic threats, criminal mischief, having an open container in the vehicle, being an alcohol restricted driver, failure to install an ignition interlock device, possession of a controlled substance, propelling a bodily substance and driving under the influence with two or more prior convictions within 10 years.
