SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police are searching for clues after a man at an apartment complex was shot Friday morning.

The man knocked on doors at an apartment complex, 1189 N. Redwood Road, about 6:25 a.m. looking for help, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Michael Ross. He said the man did not live in that complex.

The man, who is about 35, claimed he was shot in a nearby parking lot and said the gunman then ran off, Ross said. The victim, whose name was not released, was walking and talking when police arrived. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Ross said detectives had not located anyone who heard any gunshots. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-799-3000.
