OGDEN — A man in his mid-30s was shot and killed Monday night, and police are asking for public assistance to help identify and locate the gunman.
Just before 7 p.m., police received "multiple 911 calls" reporting a shooting in the 3500 block of Jefferson Ave, said Lt. Danielle Croyle from the Ogden Police Department. When police arrived on scene, they found a man in the street who had been shot.
The man was taken to an area hospital via ambulance in critical condition, but he died at the hospital, Croyle said. No information about the number of shots or where the man was shot were available Monday evening.
Croyle said police have limited information on the suspect, but she said they are looking for a man wearing a white shirt, dark jeans and possibly a baseball cap. He was last seen leaving the scene northbound on foot.
Weber County Homicide Task Force is handling the investigation. The task force is made up of representatives from multiple agencies county wide.
Anyone with information about the incident or the gunman's whereabouts is asked call Ogden police at 801-629-8221.
More information will be posted when it's available.
