MILLCREEK — An 18-year-old man was shot Wednesday while chasing after a man who threw something through his window, police said.

About 7:15 p.m., several people were inside an apartment near 4100 South and 500 East when an unknown object came through the window, breaking the glass, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

The group ran outside and chased after the vandal through the apartment complex. Other tenants at the complex later told investigators they heard multiple shots fired.

The 18-year-old was shot in the hand and taken to a local hospital in fair condition. Hoyal said investigators had very limited information about the shooter Thursday. The shooting is believed to be gang-related, he said.
