UTAH COUNTY — A man was arrested Wednesday night after selling a hard drive that contained child pornography, police said.

A woman in Utah bought a hard drive on KSL.com in December 2013 and found the drive contained child porn, according to a police statement. Investigators found “several images of child pornography and child erotica on the drive,” the arrest report stated.

Police discovered Philip Boswell Case was the previous owner of the hard drive. Officers said they went to his home on June 5, and Case waived his Miranda rights. He acknowledged the hard drive was his and that he sold it on KSL.com, police said.

Case allowed officers to search his home and go through another computer that was password protected. Investigators found more child porn on that laptop, police said. The officers obtained a warrant to further search the computer and sent it to a forensics lab. The computer was returned in October 2014.

Officers from the Utah Attorney General’s Office arrested Case on Wednesday night on seven counts of child pornography and he was booked into the Utah County Jail.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
