WEST VALLEY CITY — Two serious crashes overnight were the result of DUI, according to police.
The crash first happened around 10:30 p.m. near 3800 South and 7200 West. West Valley police say a pickup truck slowing to turn was hit from behind by a Dodge Durango. The truck was sent into a fire hydrant, and the Durango plowed into a fence.
No one was seriously injured, and no water leaked from the hydrant.
Police say the driver of the Durango, a 43-year-old from Magna, was arrested for investigation of DUI.
Another crash happened around 2 a.m. near 4700 S. Redwood Road. Unified Police say a car jumped the median, hit the retaining wall and launched onto the grass next to a Dee's Restaurant.
The 25-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say she will be booked into jail for investigation of DUI.
