WOODS CROSS — A woman from Ogden died early Saturday morning after her car veered off the road onto Legacy Parkway, police say.

Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the victim was driving an Audi car westbound on 500 South in Woods Cross, according to police. The Audi veered off the roadway and landed in the northbound lanes of Legacy Parkway.

The driver, a 53-year-old woman from the Ogden area, died upon impact, police said.

The victim was wearing a seatbelt, police said. It is not known yet if there was any impairment, but speed does appear to be a factor, police said. The Utah Highway Patrol is assisting Woods Cross police in investigating the crash.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
