DAVIS COUNTY — Division of Wildlife Resources officials are asking for the public’s help locating those responsible for the illegal killing of 25 waterfowl.
DWR officials located 15 dead Canada geese and 10 dead ducks near the Howard Slough Waterfowl Management area on Jan. 25, according to a DWR news release. The waterfowl had been left to waste.
The majority of the bird carcasses were “fairly fresh,” and investigators believe the waterfowl were disposed of during the month of January, the news release said.
Anyone with information about the wasted birds can contact the UTiP hotline at 1-800-662-3337. Rewards are available that lead to the arrest of the poachers and tips can remain anonymous.
