RENO, Nev. (AP) — Jalen Moore tied his career-high of 22 points on Tuesday night as Utah State held off a late surge by Nevada to win 70-54.

The sophomore also had 22 in a loss to New Mexico on Jan. 10.

David Collette and Chris Smith scored 10 apiece for the Aggies (11-7, 4-2 Mountain West), who made 27 of 59 field goals. Moore has scored in double figures 17 times this season.

AJ West scored eight of Nevada's first 12 points, but Utah State pulled ahead 17-12 after a layup by Moore and led 29-19 at halftime.

West scored seven straight Wolf Pack points midway through the second half to pull Nevada within 50-45. The Aggies responded with 10 unanswered points, including 3s by Moore and Smith, then finished with a 7-2 run.

West led the Wolf Pack (6-11, 2-3) with 18 points and nine rebounds.
