WEST JORDAN — A high-speed chase that ended in a crash Sunday is believed to have stemmed from a domestic abuse call the day before, according to the West Jordan Police Department.
Officers responded to a domestic abuse call Saturday and continued to search for the suspect.
Sunday afternoon, police located the man and pulled him over, but he immediately drove off.
West Jordan police Lt. Dean Waters said that's when the man got onto the freeway.
"This particular suspect... we were pursuing him on felony charges," Waters said. "It was important that we caught him."
The man led police officers on a chase with speeds exceeding 90 mph, shutting down southbound lanes of I-15.
The suspect lost control of the car after hitting a police vehicle and crashed into a ditch near the 10600 South exit.
He was taken into custody and faces multiple charges.
