ST. GEORGE — A man was arrested and another was injured after a rollover accident Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Foremaster Drive, according to St. George police. Police received reports from a witness who said a white pickup truck rolled after passing another vehicle in a restricted area. The pickup truck lost control after passing the vehicle and ran off the road.

The truck rolled end over end down the hill and eventually came to rest on its wheels, police said. The 25-year-old male driver was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. The truck then rolled backwards down the hill 100 feet more.

The 21-year-old male passenger was pinned in the rear passenger seat of the truck and had to be extricated from the vehicle, police said. Both men were transported to an area hospital by ambulance with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the cause of the accident and the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
