There is considerable work to be done, considerable meetings to attend to, and sometimes we've found ourselves a little bit short of time.

–David Thomas, Utah State Board of Education vice chairman

The board voted to keep David Crandall of District 10 as chairman and David Thomas of District 4 as vice chairman.

Board members decided to appoint an additional vice chairman to share in responsibilities of administering performance evaluations, training new board members, leading the board's audit committee and elections. Jennifer Johnson of District 8 was elected to fill the added position as vice chairwoman.

"There is considerable work to be done, considerable meetings to attend to, and sometimes we've found ourselves a little bit short of time," Thomas said.
