PROVO — The Provo City School District has announced a tentative time frame in which schools will be rebuilt. The construction will be funded due to successful passage of a $108 million bond on Election Day.

Rock Canyon and Sunset View elementary schools will be the first schools to be rebuilt. Groundbreaking is expected during summer 2015, and the new schools will open in fall 2016.

Design and planning for Provo High School will begin by late winter 2015. The process is expected to last about 12 and 14 months, with reconstruction work beginning during summer 2016.

The first issuance of bonds will likely be sometime in late winter or early spring 2015.

Between May 2015 and May 2016, plans will be developed for the remaining elementary schools, with groundbreaking anticipated in summer 2016.

Plans are subject to change.

Due to the complex nature of the Provo High School project, the district will select that project's architect first, before the elementary schools.

Updates will be provided periodically at provo.edu.
