SALT LAKE COUNTY — A Park City man is facing a DUI charge after he rolled his Subaru Impreza on I-80 Saturday morning.

According to a written statement from the Utah Highway Patrol, Robert Whyte, 28, was traveling west on I-80 just before 8 a.m. when his vehicle went off the road near the mouth of Parleys Canyon. The Subaru went up the right embankment, vaulted 150 feet and rolled after hitting the ground, the statement said.

Whyte was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was found to be "in possession of drug paraphernalia and admitted to using narcotics recently," the UHP statement said.

Investigators believe narcotic use played a role in the crash. UHP said Whyte will be charged with DUI.
