SALT LAKE CITY — Part of the roof on a vacant downtown building collapsed Tuesday morning.

Firefighters said a large amount of water had accumulated on the roof of the building at 44 W. 300 South. The weight of the water apparently collapsed the roof.

Salt Lake Fire Battalion Chief Karl Steadman said the one-story building appeared to be an add-on to a building that faces Main Street. Broken glass and water filled a nearby alley.

TRAX trains in the area were temporarily suspended but service has resumed.

Nobody was injured in the collapse and no other structures were damaged.
