SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police continued to look for suspects Monday following a weekend melee at a strip club that resulted in a hit-and-run injury and a shot fired.
Just before midnight on Saturday, two groups got into a fight inside Southern Exposure, 3420 S. State, said South Salt Lake police detective Gary Keller. The fight was believed to be gang-related.
Bouncers escorted both groups out of the club. That's when the fight resumed in the parking lot, Keller said. He did not know Monday how many people were fighting from each side.
At one point, one of the group members got into a car and drove into the other group, striking two people, Keller said. One man suffered a possible broken leg and was transported to the hospital while the other refused medical attention.
As two cars were leaving, at least one shot was fired into the air, Keller said. Both groups had left by the time police arrived, with only the people who were hit by the car still at the scene. Investigators also recovered one shell casing in the parking lot.
Detectives were checking Monday to see if surveillance video from the club captured any part of the confrontation.
