Horseheads, N.Y. (WETM) — "I'm the happiest person in the world today, to think I'm 103 years old and feel as good as I do," said Pearl Sutphen.
When she was born, William Taft was President, the Chicago Cubs had won a World Series just three years prior, and the Titanic was still an unsinkable ship waiting for her maiden voyage. The day was December, 9th 1911.
Now, 103 years later, a lot has changed in the world. What hasn't changed is Sutphen's passion for helping others. For her, staying healthy means staying active.
"I push myself as far as I can. I'm thankful I can walk, and I do. I walk, I keep exercising and that is the best to keep me on my feet," Sutphen says.
