Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, joined Grant and Amanda on Utah’s Morning News to give his thoughts on the release of the report and what he thinks will be the fallout.
Stewart says it’s a highly partisan report that reviews information that’s been debated for more than a decade now. He says even the Secretary of State has said the report is going to endanger US interests and personnel overseas.
Stewart told Grant and Amanda the report was written primarily by Democratic staffers on the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is why they are releasing it now before they lose their majority next year, and Republicans could have more input on the final draft.
“Many of us view this as just a parting shot going back to the Bush administration,” said Stewart.
