TAYLORSVILLE — Police have followed several possible leads, but were still looking Monday for a 17-year-old girl with a diminished mental capacity who has been missing for a week.

Olivia Graham was last spotted Nov. 24 leaving her house. She was supposed to go by bus to a treatment center, but did not show up. The girl "suffers from several mental disabilities and functions at a 12-year-old level," according to Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

Detectives believe Graham went back to her house when her parents were not home, took money and two backpacks filled with unspecified items, and left, Hoyal said.

Police believe Graham has not taken her medication for one week and "can become violent," putting herself and others in danger because of her mental condition, Hoyal said. Because of this, the endangered missing person alert was sent out.

Description of Olivia Graham
  • 5-feet 4 inches tall
  • 140 lbs
  • Brown hair, shoulder-length
  • Brown eyes
  • Could be wearing black coat and pants
  • Could be carrying one blue and one black backpack

Graham is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, has shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. According to police, she could be wearing a black coat and pants and carrying one blue and one black backpack.

The teen does not have a cellphone or credit cards, Hoyal said.

She often uses TRAX stations near 2100 South, Valley Fair Mall and the Salt Lake Main Library, he said.

This is not the first time Graham has run away. In 2012, Unified police asked for the public's help to find her. She had been staying at a friend's house, Hoyal said, and returned home about 36 hours after she went missing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-743-7000.
