CLEARFIELD — A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly brandishing a gun during a fight with his wife and brother-in-law.

David Charles Smith, 28, had gotten into a fight with his wife in a parking lot near 1700 South and Main Street. went to his car to retrieve his rifle, according to Clearfield Police department Lt. Kelly Bennett. After loading the gun, Smith's brother-in-law grabbed the weapon and punched Smith in the face, Bennett said.

Smith then left the scene and his family called police around 12:47 p.m., Bennett said. Officers found Smith walking along 1700 South and they drove him to the hospital to be treated for his injuries sustained during the fight.

Smith was booked into the Davis County Jail where he his being held without bail, Bennett said.
