CLEARFIELD — The license of a pediatrician who was recently arrested on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a minor has been temporarily limited, officials announced Friday.

Taylor Steven Jerman, a pediatrician at the Intermountain Health Care clinic in Layton, was arrested Oct. 31 after investigators said they found hundreds of images containing child pornography on his personal computer.

Jerman’s license to practice as a physician/surgeon and to administer and prescribe controlled substances was placed under a non-disciplinary limitation stipulation and order Thursday by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

The order means that Jerman “shall not practice as a physician in any way or manner, and shall not administer or prescribe a controlled substance in any way or manner,” until all of the charges made against him have been cleared, according to a document from the DOPL.

While his license is suspended, Jerman is allowed to renew and maintain his licenses, in addition to completing continuing education requirements, according to the DOPL.

Hundreds of images depicting “nude children being sexually exploited” were located on Jerman’s personal computer, according to a probable cause statement. The investigation began on Aug. 27 when an undercover agent detected "child pornography files were being downloaded and shared within Clearfield City," the document reads.

Investigators said none of Jerman’s alleged criminal activities were tied to his employment as a pediatrician. He was first licensed in Utah on Jan. 25, 2013 and is originally from Highland.
