MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — A crash involving two semitrucks forced the closure of I-15 Monday night in Weber County.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, all northbound lanes were closed at 400 North. The road reopened Tuesday morning.

The two drivers involved in the accident escaped with minor injuries, according to a Utah Department of Public Safety's public information officer.

The accident happened at around 8:30 p.m., but details of how it occurred were not immediately available.

One of the trucks involved was hauling a load of cardboard, the DPS spokesman said; the other truck didn't have a trailer.

Photos tweeted out by DPS and KSL's Devon Dolan showed one tractor-trailer truck on its side, sprawling across several lanes of traffic, while the other truck was partially suspended on a cement barrier.

The Utah Department of Transportation estimated at the time the closure would last five hours and instructed northbound drivers to exit the freeway at 12th Street in Ogden.

Southbound traffic was also restricted to one lane.

The accident remained under investigation.
