WEST HAVEN — Police responded to a serious crash in West Haven involving a horse Friday morning.
Police said a truck was headed south on 1900 West when the driver saw a shadow to the side of the road at 1950 South, then hit a horse. It happened around 4:15 a.m.
The driver told police he saw three or four horses on the road.
The driver was not seriously injured but the horse died from its injuries.
