WEST JORDAN — Police are searching for a driver who led officers on a chase and drove at speeds of 80 mile-per-hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone. During the chase, the driver ditched the car, jumped a fence and got away.
A West Jordan officer tried to stop the driver for expired plates and a broken light near 8000 South and 1300 West just before 2 a.m., according to Sgt. Chaundra Edmonds of the West Jordan Police Department.
The driver took off, leading police on a 13-block chase. Eventually, the cars entered a dead end. The driver ditched the car, jumped a fence and ran into an apartment complex. Police were unable to find him.
Edmonds said police found evidence in the car that may help identify the driver.
