TAYLORSVILLE — Police in two jurisdictions were investigating separate shootings Monday that happened about 10 minutes apart.

Just before 12:30 a.m., a 15-year-old boy in his room at the Atherton Park Apartments, 4545 S. Atherton Drive (1075 West), heard a knock at his window. Moments later, multiple shots were fired through the window by an unknown person, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. The teen was not hurt.

Detectives had not released a possible motive Monday and or information about possible suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-743-7000.

About 10 minutes later in an unrelated incident, Salt Lake police were called to a report of a drive-by shooting at 1221 W. Harris Ave. (1625 South). Residents inside said they could hear bullets hitting the house.

Investigators found three shots had struck the house and four hit a vehicle parked in the driveway.

Police did not immediately release a possible motive or suspect information Monday. Salt Lake police say they do have a prior history of being called to that residence.

Anyone with information on that shooting can call police at 801-799-3000.
