JUAB COUNTY — A semitrailer carrying alcohol tipped over on its side during an accident on I-15 Monday afternoon, closing the northbound freeway for several hours.
The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. about one mile from the Yuba Dam Road, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce. The semitruck was traveling southbound on I-15 when the driver went into the northbound lanes, causing it to tip over on its side, Royce said. The semitrailer was transporting alcoholic beverages.
The driver received minor injuries in the accident and was transported to a local hospital in Nephi. The northbound lanes were closed for several hours during cleanup.
The cause of the accident was unknown.
