SALT LAKE CITY — For many, this is the time of year to search for "The Great Pumpkin." And for more than 100 Utah foster children, they are searching for a family, too.
The Pumpkin Festival at the Gateway Mall attracted over 500 visitors and almost as many pumpkins on Friday, all to help kids in the Utah foster care system.
Children got to pick out their very own pumpkin and decorate it and there were other crafts booths, food and even exotic animals.
Watch the video above to see more highlights from the festival.
There are currently about 2,700 kids in foster care in Utah and only 1,300 foster care families. If you would like to learn more about the many children hoping to be adopted, go to the visit KSL's Wednesday's Child page.
