MILLCREEK — Police located and arrested a man a few minutes after he robbed a credit union Thursday afternoon, they said in a release.

The robbery occurred around 3 p.m. at the Mountain America Credit Union at 2174 E. 3300 South, according to Unified police. A man entered the credit union and gave a note to the teller. The note demanded money and indicated the man had a weapon, police said. However, the man never displayed a weapon and no one was injured in the robbery.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot heading eastbound.

Within minutes of the robbery, a Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Officer investigator saw the robber leave the area driving at a high rate of speed in a white Subaru Impreza. The investigator contacted police and officers located the car and performed a traffic stop.

Kenyon Fletcher, 23, of Murray was identified as the suspected robber and was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery charges.
