SALT LAKE CITY — Two men were arrested after firing several shots outside a club early Friday morning, police said.

The shooting occurred at the Trail's Gentlemen’s Club at 921 S. 300 West around 1:20 a.m., according to Salt Lake City police Detective Dennis McGowan. Two brothers identified as Alfredo Batalla, 31, and Miguel Batalla, 25, were “kicked out (of the club) for causing some kind of problem,” McGowan said.

The Batalla brothers left the area, then pulled into the south parking lot of the club in a vehicle. The men confronted a small group of people standing in the parking lot and began verbally provoking them. Alfredo Batalla was the passenger in the vehicle, and he fired two shots toward the group which hit a nearby car in the parking lot, McGowan said.

Several more shots were fired and the brothers fled the parking lot in the vehicle. The Batallas drove south a few blocks and sped past officers dealing with an unrelated case. The officers followed the Batallas and the men were arrested without incident.

Officers said alcohol was a factor in the shooting and gang units are also investigating the case. Alfredo Batalla was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of a weapons violation with a restricted person and discharging a weapon from a vehicle. Miguel Batalla was booked on suspicion of discharging a weapon from a vehicle.

No one was injured in the shooting and an investigation is ongoing.
